What is the Word of Righteousness? by Pastor Brett Smith

Pastor Brett shared a personal story about working in maintenance at a church, where he accidentally reversed golden feet decorations meant to symbolize marching to the Promised Land. The speaker emphasized several key theological points: 

1. He stressed that every aspect of Christian life requires faith, discussing ongoing building projects and the need for classroom space. 

2. Pastor also highlighted that testimonies aren't just past events but current experiences lived through faith. 

3. Pastor delved into Hebrews 5:12-14, discussing the difference between spiritual milk and solid food. He emphasized that maturity in faith means becoming skilled in the word of righteousness and being able to teach others.

4. He explained that the gospel reveals God's character as the foundation of righteousness, with Christ as the highest example. 

5. He emphasized the importance of using the gospel properly - not for fighting dogma or personal gain, but for salvation and transformation. 

6. And he referenced a story about a man finding a 26-pound gold nugget (worth $1.6 million at auction) in the Sonoran Desert in 1989 as a metaphor for finding spiritual treasure.
